Terms of use
These terms apply to the EcuaNews app and its website (newsbite24.com/ecuanews). This is a translation; if it differs from the Spanish text, the Spanish text applies. By using the app you accept these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it.
1. Who we are
EcuaNews is published by NewsBite24 (Ecuador). Write to us at support@newsbite24.com.
2. Who can use the app
- You must be at least 13 years old.
- You can read the news without an account. To keep saved stories on all your devices, comment or get personal alerts, you need one.
- If you create an account, the details you give must be true and you are responsible for what is done with it. Keep your password safe.
3. The news
- We sum up the news in a few words and say where each story comes from. When a story comes from another outlet, we link to it.
- We do our best to be accurate, but stories may contain mistakes or change after they are published. Do not rely on them alone for important decisions (health, money, legal).
- If you see a mistake, write to us and we will check it.
4. What you may and may not do
You may read, save and share stories with the app's buttons. You may not:
- copy or republish our content in bulk, or use programs to download it;
- use the app for anything illegal, to deceive others or to pretend to be someone else;
- post comments that are offensive, discriminatory, threatening, spam, or that contain other people's personal data;
- try to reach parts of the app or the server not meant for you, or disrupt them.
We may remove comments and suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
5. Intellectual property
The texts, summaries, design, logo and the name EcuaNews are ours or used with permission. Other outlets' names and content belong to their owners.
6. Ads
The app shows ads we sell directly to businesses; they are always marked "Ad". The advertiser is responsible for what it offers. We count how often an ad is seen and tapped without telling the advertiser who you are.
7. The app may change
We may change, pause or stop parts of the app. The app is free and provided "as is": we do not promise it will always work without interruption.
8. Liability
As far as the law allows, NewsBite24 is not liable for indirect damage arising from using the app or third-party sites we link to. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under Ecuador's consumer protection law.
9. Your account and your data
You can delete your account at any time: Profile → Settings → Account → Delete account, or from this page. How we use your data is in the Privacy policy.
10. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we update this page's date. If the change is important, we tell you in the app before it applies.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ecuador. Any dispute will be settled by the competent courts of Ecuador. If you live in another country, the consumer protection rules of your country that cannot be excluded also apply.
